If I lived more local I'd jump at the chance oz. I need more Auto work to get myself going again.

We've just gone to £27 an hour to try and attract a new auto instructor or two . . . . . . it does my head in :?

Oz

PS - 2 hours later - How weird?? One of our manual instructors has decided to do automatic, and bought an auto tonight, he instantly gets a £3 an hour pay rise, allowing his existing manual pupils to be passed out to other manual instructors . . . . auto waiting list fills up the auto instructor, his ex-pupils fill the manual instructors . . . .. win/win situation, ain't life weird??

I've just been over to Harlow for a 2 hour lesson only to find the pupil not there. Apparently "her mum wasn't well and she'd gone to look after her". After 12 years you hear them all :D Still don't know why she couldn't have called. Was my only lessons today, company I'm driving for charged £22 an hour and offered first lesson at half-price. So, I figure I'm £10 out of pocket if the pupil doesn't contact me. It's 20 miles to Harlow from me, a long way for a lesson but I need the work.

Not much by the sound of things. Spoke to Bill Plant, Red, AA and New Driver who all have no auto instructors in my area. Each time was told "we could do with one but there probably wouldn't be much work and you'd have to cover a large area". Got a meeting with Bill Plant on Monday to consider going back to manual.

Drove 26 miles to meet a pupil today for a 90 minute lesson. Close to 70 miles on a round trip. Back to Harlow tomorrow (20 miles) for a 2-hour lesson.
