I was told by the dealer that if I wanted a second speedo then dealer fitted would be about £300.
I have had my new corsa 3 months now. I (and examiner) can see the speedo quite clearly and it cost me £1 and was fitted in around 30 seconds.

Items you will require ....
1 compact (female makeup thingy) mirror bought from a pound shop
1 bit of bluetack

Remove concave (not convex) mirror from the housing. Put the bluetack on the reverse side, fix it at the required angle next to the speedo so you can see it from the passenger seat. Yes the image is reversed but i'm sure you can read 30, 40, 50 etc backwards!
This is no joke I honestly have this in my car.

Vauxhall fit mine free of charge. It was already in the car when I drove out of the showroom.

Yes but you paid for it. It was in the 'Pack' price

Ok sorry I didn't realise you were in touch with my dealer and knew my account so well. How long have you worked for vauxhall??

When I bought my car (which was back in 2007 shortly after the new shape corsa came out) I questioned my dealer about this and he said the speedos were just fitted as standard on driving school cars and didn't effect the price. Nothing was mentioned about it being included in the package price or that £300 would be knocked off if I didn't want one. In fact I was told I wouldn't get the option. It will come with the speedo and if I wanted to then remove it I could.
I'll give my dealer a ring in the morning and see what they say. The policy may have changed but no £300 fitting price was ever mentioned to me. As I understood it the second speedo was fit as standard and automatically came with the car like the 5 wheels and the gear stick did because I was ordering it as a driving school.
