one of my pups who should have done/known better......

decided to stall, and brake heavily.....or was it brake heavily and stall....yes thats it

on the approach to a fast roundabout in Southampton this afternoon

the adi (female) behind me had a face that i wish i had time to photo to show you all

both her pup and she were really slow to react.......and managed to stop so close to the back of my car i'm sure my car tucked it's bum in........if i had not been bracing myself for the "bang" i might have burst out laughing..........

only it's been one of those weeks.......it's not funny......but some times the relief at not having some one up your chuff makes one want to share with you all

for the female adi who ever you are.......I'm sorry......but my pup decided she would not listen to my command of "less brake.....off brake"......repeated .......but then who would expect someone to stop so short of a roundabout so suddenly?

bet cha you don't let him drive so close to a learner again though !?

no harm in the end except 2 adi's requiring new underware............and no doubt 2 pups still in dream land not realising how close to their first rta they were. :D

how do they manage to catch us out when we least expect it?

its the one thing when they go aka on the brake that were at the mercy at times to folk behind not being to close, think we all have had that, nothing worse than a learner using there left foot all of a sudden to brake, dont think he-man has invented a brake override pedal for us quite yet :!:
had a girl a few years ago that had that horrible habit, not every lesson, just now and again , she could not answer why she done it, could not take ya eye of her,

I had a left foot braker the other night. Slowing to turn into her street at the end of the lessons, stamps on the brake. Fortunately car behind behind wasnt too close. Night time lessons so little hope of seeing her left foot going for the brake.

I've got a left foot accelerator in the auto, nearly knocked a house down a few weeks ago, woman stood on the gas pedal whilst reversing into her driveway. I had to knock the car out of drive and stand on the dual brake whilst requesting that she take her foot off the gas before my engine exploded.

I had a lad once who, on a long straight road went to change gear, off the gas, clutch goes down, hand reaches across to the gear lever....

... and suddenly the handbrake gets yanked on as hard as you can imagine! :o

God knows how we weren't hit from behind as obviously there were no brake lights to warn the following motorists of our impending lack of movement.

I'll get it in now before motoringtutor get's it in as you know i'm only joking

A course of cpd is needed I think. you all sound like very poor ADI's to me. A good ADI would never let a pupil do such a thing.

I blame all your ADI training providers.

There we go, no need for him to reply now as I've kindly done it for him. :D

I have had a pupil who always brought the clutch up to bite while pressing down very firmly on the brake at the same time. He was a very good driver when he (eventually) got going. Needless to say I am not looking forward to our next lesson and we all have that momonetary lapse in concentration that normally nearly ends in a nasty case of death.
